I added music to the menu screen of my project in idvd. The track I added appears in the info window of the menu screen on the map, but when I preview the menu, no music. Whaaaa??

Hi Can it be so that music is from iTunes ? If so then in iTunes collect needed audio into a new PlayList. Burn this out as an Audio-CD and as .aiff - not .mp3 Use audio from this CD in Your Movie projects and in iDVD - no DRM copy protection as else. Yours Bengt W

Hi Benjt W,I did as you suggested. I used itunes preferences to create an .aiff version of my selected song, and it wouldn't allow me because, as you said, the song is protected. Why? I used to be able to use itune bpought song. And why shouldn't you be allowed anyway? In idvd I am able to drag this song into the menu frame, and it appears there; yet it still won't play!!

But did You Burn this out as an Audio-CD and as .aiff - not .mp3 Either this helps or trashing iDVD pref file - only thing that I can figure out. Yours Bengt W

Suddenly I got a thought - the most simple things might be the problem• Is Animation on iDVD Menu turned off - then no Music ?• What Theme did You start from ?• What version of iDVD are You using (and Mac OS and QuickTime ? ) ?    If non of these then I get the feeling of that iDVD is ill behaving. Read this and try to see if it helps. Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows. • Delete iDVD pref. file - or rather start a new user/account - log into this and re-try iDVD pref. file resides. Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences and is named.com.apple.iDVD.plist While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.Now restart iDVD. • Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb • Disconnect all external hard disks and try - FireWire, USB/2, AirPort or Net-work connected. To work OK I prefer FireWire AND it must be Mac OS Extended formatted - UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - WILL NOT DO for video - neither for iMovie or FinalCut or iDVD any version ! This also includes any USB-memory sticks. • Hard disk is untidy. Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disk (Apple’s Disk Utilities application) • Program miss-match. iDVD 5.0.2, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK - DON’T work under Leopard• Program miss-match. iDVD 6.0.4, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK (might work under Leopard)• Program miss-match. iDVD’08 v. 7.0.1, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK will work under Leopard)• Program miss-match. iDVD’09 v. 7.0.4, Mac OS X.5.8 AND QuickTime 7.6.4 - is OK (does work under Leopard) • iDVD (08) v7 Locate theme folder. Move out iDVD1, iDVD 2 and eventually iDVD4 folders to desktop - re-try Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD/Themes/ zzzzzzzzzz or Macintosh HD/Users/Your log-in//Library/Application Support/iDVD/Installed Themes/ zzzzzzzzzz • Try a Cleaning CD/DVD that cleans the laser lens on the DVD burner/player iDVD 6.0.4 and iDVD 7.0.1 are compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Last resort. from Craig. Solved the problem ! ! Finally ! !I deleted every iDVD application and folder from my boot drive, emptied the trash and then installed iDVD 08 using the customize optionand I am up and running. If You do a re-install be sure to get rid of all iDVD old parts AND then EMPTY the Trash-basket ! iDVD updated ? Apple Codec updated ? Start a New Clean project - or delete project assets No of Colors - must be set to millions EdinSF writes that, The 10.6.3 update with an Open GL fix seems to have taken care of the problem.  Yours Bengt W
