Printing tickets
Printing tickets
Hello there! Can someone tell me how to create sequentially numbered tickets in either Pages or Numbers? Regards, johnboy.

John, If you describe your tickets, we may be able to suggest an approch. Jerry
Re:Printing tickets
Hi John, Here's a quick example using Numbers. The sample is from the bottom of P3. You're seeing the bottom edge of the top two tickets on the page and the full image of the bottom four. Some issues with the 'simple' method:The text is entered directly into the cell, so only a single size and style is possible within each cell. The only way to use an image is to place the image as an "image fill" in the cells.Cells may contain either fixed text or a formula (to determine the number). I used two cells for each card. The top one contains the 'big event' text, the bottom contains this formula: ="Event Date & Time "&RIGHT("000000"&ROW()-2+COLUMN(),7) which generates the numbers and appends them tothe text at the left (including a string of non-breaking spaces in the 'blank' area) plus the number, padded with enough leading zeroes to keep the number a constant length. If I were spending the time to do the actual job, all text except that bottom line would be part of the image used as background fill in the cell, and I would use a single cell for each ticket. Regards,Barry
Re:Printing tickets
All these years of using a computer, receiving all kinds of official Novel, MS, and Adobe training credentials have obviously dulled my mind. A great solution to a common problem.
